Special Sessions

Special sessions at SDEMPED 2027 are dedicated sessions focused on specific topics of current interest that complement the symposium's regular technical programme. They provide a forum for in-depth discussion of emerging themes, cross-disciplinary challenges, and novel application domains not yet fully represented in the main tracks.

A special session typically consists of a small number of invited or openly solicited papers, reviewed according to the same standards as regular submissions. The session is organised by one or more proposers who take responsibility for identifying and inviting contributors, ensuring sufficient submissions, and chairing the session at the symposium.

Papers presented in accepted special sessions are subject to the same review and publication process as all other SDEMPED papers and will appear in the conference proceedings.

To propose a special session, please prepare a short proposal document (approximately one to two pages) describing:

• The session title and the specific topic or theme it addresses.
• The motivation for the session — why this topic merits a dedicated forum at SDEMPED 2027.
• The names and affiliations of the session organiser(s).
• An indicative list of four to six potential contributors or paper topics.
• Any relevant prior work or related sessions at previous conferences.

Submit your proposal by email to the organising secretariat. Proposals will be reviewed by the programme committee, and proposers will be notified of the decision promptly.
